MANDY ALTIMUS POND
I have always had a love for photography, taking my first picture at age 4. I was raised in a very artistic and encouraging home. My other creative endeavors include graphic design, websites, film, and more. Photography has become my voice, a way to share my dream world with viewers.

PHILOSOPHY
My photos reflect a conceivable fantasy. The colors of my pictures are altered to throw the viewer into my dream world. In this world, however, the subjects are very much real people that you could meet in every day life. I love the female form, especially when placed in remote or abandoned places you would not expect a beautiful woman to be. These beautiful women in abandoned and forgotten places tell a story, often enhanced by their decaying surroundings.

EXHIBITIONS & FEATURES
My photographs were recently featured in several exhibits in Akron, Canton, and Massillon, Ohio. Exhibits include Luminaries at the Joseph Saxton Gallery (Canton, Ohio), Illuminate at the RedLight Gallery (Akron, Ohio), and the Stark County Artists Exhibition 2010 and 2011 (Massillon, Ohio).

My photograph "Waiting" was the winner of First Place in Commercial Photography in the 2011 Joseph Saxton Gallery Luminaries Competition, Canton, Ohio.
